Every Western Country has universal health care for their citizens

health insurance profits
I wish to digress from being your DUI Lawyer of Palm Beach and write a little on the health insurance crisis in the United States. For too long Americans have been at the mercy of insurance companies when it comes to their health care. It is time that the United States government step in and guarantee each and everyone of us health care. It is time to take the profit away from the insurance companies! It is time to place people before profits!

It is because of the massive profits involved that the insurance industry will fight tooth and nail to prevent a single payor universal health care. They will lie! They will cheat! They will attempt to scare the American people regarding the creeping shadow of socialism. Stop and think for a moment about the insurance companies. They are major corporations! In some instances they are multi-national corporations! They do not care about you or your children. They care about the profits that can be made for their shareholders and the company itself.

On MSNBC Republican Congressmen Zach Wamp of Tennessee proclaimed that health was a privilege and not a right. What this means is you have the privilege of paying for it if you can afford it, if cannot you do not have a right to it. I beg to differ. Every Western Country has universal health care for their citizens. In America we have been sold a bill of goods that the health care in other countries does not meet our standards. In Canada it’s citizens are covered from cradle to grave, without deductibles and without co-pays. Let me repeat we have been sold a bill of goods. The entire system is set up to make a profit!. I am tired of these defenders of insurance companies, who are mainly Republican politicians, when they tout the virtues of the free market economy.

Isn’t it about time you actually see something in return for the taxes you pay. We have borrowed 12 billion dollars a month for the last 6 years to finance an illegal invasion of a foreign country. Suppose that money had gone into universal health care. Did you know that approximately 50 % of all tax dollars collected go to the United States Military Complex. That amount rises every year. When does it stop? The U.S. has the capability of destoying all life on the palnet many times over. Why not, just for a change, try to help out the citizens of the United States?

Prior to the current economic crisis, brought on by Bush and his cronies there were 46 million Americans uninsured in the United States. This is unacceptable! Again, this is because we have come to accept profits before people. Since September 2008 there are several million more people out of work. So let’s think this through, they are not working, therefore they cannot pay some exorbitant insurance premium with a high deductible.

So I say, place people before profits. Give us universal health care now! If it be called socialism then bring it now!
